Change Your Life… Change Your Life. Change Your Life!!!
What would it take for you to change your life? So many people are stuck in that same ol’ rut. We are taught by society to go to school, get good grades, go to college… or not. Get a job, start a family, buy a house and work your a$$ off so you never truly enjoy your marriage or your kids! So, you find yourself stuck in this trading time for money trap of a life. You spend years trying to get ahead but you know you just won’t EVER achieve all of your goals and dreams. You won’t do all the things you dreamed of when you were a kid. You won’t go to all the places you hoped to visit as you grew up. Why? Because there’s just simply not enough time (because you’re working so much) or money (what you spend all of your time chasing) to do it all. If you’re like the majority of people, you’re going to work for years without ever accruing a substantial savings or having any investments to be able to retire and live a comfortable life. Most have to lower their standard of living upon retirement and so they worked their you-know-whats off for years to live on a fraction of what they used to. If you were to ask them, “What did you do to change your life?” They’d say, “Nothing.” Why? Because they were satisfied.
For the last 11 years, I’ve had a great job that pays a better-than-average salary, great benefits and gives me more vacation time than most other jobs but… it’s still a job. I went to school, got good grades, went to college and graduated and got a job. Now, I’m held to a schedule for a certain number of hours (up to 100 hours per week). I answer to a long line of people who work less but make more and I’m stuck. Here’s the real dilemma, I am happily married to the most wonderful girl a schmuck like me could ask for and we have the most precious little boys on the face of this earth! But, I see them far less than I ever hoped for. I knew, as the working parent, that I’d spend a significant amount of time away from home. But, this is ridiculous and it tugs at my heart strings. I want to go to every school function, every game, every party and then some!
This is the scenario that really hit home for me: While packing a suitcase for another 4-5 day stint on the road, I asked my four-year old for help. And, because he is always delighted to do whatever I do, he agreed with an eager smile. So, as he’s placing some of my clean shirts into the suitcase he looks up at me and he asks, “Daddy, are you going to stay at your house for a few days?” I was shocked to think that he believed I was living somewhere else. There are many, many nights when I get home long after the boys have gone to bed and leave again for work way before they start their day. In his eyes, I’m home far less than I really am. It hit me like a ton of bricks and I found myself asking, “What are you going to do to change your life?”
Change Your Life…
“Change your life…”, is what I found myself saying and thinking. ”Change your life.”, it’s what I needed to do. ”Change your life!”, it is what I’m doing. I’ve always been someone who’s open to new opportunities and I’ve always believed that one would present itself and I’d realize it when I was ready. Well it happened… I’ve found the vehicle that is changing my life. And, it can change your life too! I’d encourage you to never lose sight of your dreams and always stay the course. Don’t ever give up!!! My dad told me that you’re a product of those you spend the most time with… Anything is possible if you surround yourself with like-minded people. Surround yourself with dreamers, believers and those who see themselves reaching goals and doing the things they always knew they would. Befriend them, ask them for help and they will help you to change your life. Are you satisfied? I will help YOU change your life.
Change Your Life!!! For you and/or your family!
An opportunity to change your life awaits… Will you change your life?
